CAMP

Exciting, safe community for young people to explore the outdoors, build self-esteem, develop interpersonal skills and make lasting friendships and memories

Thanks for an awesome Camp season!

Summer 2011 was a very busy and exciting time for the Y. We had youth ranging from preschool and elementary to teens in 4 different camps. It was full of fun!

We enjoyed several field trips, having fun in the sun, learning the history of our state, and more about the area in which we live. We are planning even more exciting field trips and activities for next season. Come back for more memories and a chance to spend another summer with your friends at the Y!

Start Planning for 2012!

The mission of the YMCA is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body. To go hand-in hand with the YMCA mission, the Summer Camp program seeks to help participants: grow personally, clarify values, develop specific skills, improve family and personal relationships, become better leaders and supporters, appreciate diversity, and to HAVE FUN.

Our Camps are designed to enhance your child’s educational and emotional development. Campers get to do games, crafts and adventures with both active and quiet play all designed around weekly themes. It includes both small and large group activities. Sports, games, nature activities, songs, values lessons, arts and crafts, swimming and field trips are all included in a week of summer camp. Camp provides a balance of recreation, learning, value development and the belief that “everybody plays, everybody wins.” Campers also have the opportunity to participate in field trips and to perform community service projects.

Y summer camp is an exciting experience that will give each camper memories that will last a lifetime!

The 2012 Y Camp season begins in early June. More information will be available the Welcome Center in early 2012. Brochures will also be mailed to 2011 participating families.
